Last weeks (35)

The “This week”/”last week”-feature has been a bit erratic during the last few weeks. We know that. The Minister begs of your understanding. We can only blame it on the personnel and the swedish vacation times. It’s so hard to find good help these days. In fact when it’s vacation-time people here in sweden tend to work harder (probably the only time of year they actually do work). But let’s not dwell on that.

During the absent reporting things have really been cooking at the Ministry. Even if it haven’t looked that way. But only literary… the long heat-wave and drought has passed and the rain is back. This means that the Ministry gardener have been mowing some lawns in between the rains. Even if some call this “English weather”, it is in fact also a typical swedish summer. 15-20 degrees Celsius, cloudy and rainy. No wonder all charter-trips are so popular. The Ministry carpenter has also been busy with hammer, saw and paintbrush. The Presidents Whitehouse is getting whiter (and boarded up).

Finally the Ministry sun panel project is completed. Last minute insulation of a few feet of pipe still remains though. But the sun panel system is finally filled up. Electrician has been here and done the hook-up to the grid. A few irritating wrinkles has been ironed out, such as leaking couplings which led to several refills of the system (sigh). But now (touch wood) it seems ready for the absent sun rays! Come on sunshine! Let the sun shine down on the Ministry!

The wood-season is well overdue, and as always the Minister is late for the season… So the Ministry has acquaried a 6-ton hydraulic log-splitter that will hopefully retire the axe. And the Ministry Spa has also been acquaring a bigger and luxurous item… but more about that later.
