Only in Sweden…

In Sweden we have had two high profile deaths, in the very top of the society. One Prime Minister, gunned down on the streets of the capital. No official solution. This is 21 years ago, the murder/assasination is still unsolved. This year, january 2007 the highest ranking officer, the Chief of the Swedish Security Police (comparable with CIA) dies – in a heart-attack… That’s it. The news about this hardly hit the first-pages. Not even as much as a rumor about foul play. Although heart attacks in those high places usually isn’t considered “natural” causes. Perhaps natural effect, but that’s something completely different.

It must be a world-record in demise of the highest officials without a hint of solution… In the former case the explanation is that it was a lonely alcoholic, in the latter case the concensus seem to be that it was a natural heart attack. Let’s hope so, or it must be a world record in compliant, that could only happen in Sweden…
