Odd sock day

fredag, mars 5th, 2010

At the Ministry it’s Odd Sock Day today, when the rest of the country is having a cold and wintery time. But in spite of subzero temperatures (-10 C this morning) and abundant snowdrifts and ice sheet we are heading for spring. The almanac and some tell tale signs are saying so… We are entering the “age of iciles” and reports about falling iciles (or rather iceblocks) have been common during the last 10 days or so. At the Ministry the thick snow sheet is living a retreating life under a harsh spring sun. Some days it’s plus and the spring flood is lurking around the corner. Some days it’s lots of water on the roads and in the ditches when the sun is starting to melt all the snow. The sunpanels on the Ministry-roof is already coming up to 80+ nowadays when the spring sun is out! But still, it will take some time for all this snow to disappear… As they say in the northern Norway:

“A few good summers, and we’ll be rid of this snow.”

On a different note. The Ministry is gearing up for spring and summer. After closing the fifth ARCHIVE-exhibition, next in line is now “Konstrundan” and a cooperation with a very famous swedish female electronica artist. Plans are cooking for the “Friction Performance Festival” in Uppsala which have invited HopArt in mid-June and also an unlikely 30 year Ladonia-related anniversary later on during the summer. But more about this further down the line!

War? What is it good for…

torsdag, september 3rd, 2009

The President of Ladonia just received a declaration of War from some unknown sender. The declaration (if that is the right word for it) was very incoherent at best and the sender was not very clear about it’s whereabouts or origin. The peace loving Ladonia, it’s State Secretary, President and it’s citizens (may the sun always shine upon them) was accused of some very strange acts and things.

We may return on this matter, since the writer sounds persistent in his/hers delusions. The matter is based on unfounded allegations (or lies) and are blown out of proportion and sounds paranoid at best. Ladonia will have to look into the matter and investigate the source of such outrageous tirades.

14.000 citizens

torsdag, september 11th, 2008

President of Ladonia is proud to see that the numbers of citizens are increasing and are now over 14.000 registred citizens. This bodes well for the future of the proud and free state of Ladonia. (Source: Ladonia Herald).

Minister/President in TV-interview

fredag, januari 11th, 2008

The TV-performance on local television during the week was carried out by the Minister and his colleagues in NeuroArt when Ladonia, Lars Vilks and Neurobash participated live in the studio in the show “Skåne Direkt”. In the show the Minister of Art & Jump was interviewed since the Minister is also the newly appointed President of Ladonia. President Axwik was duly presented and interviewed together with Statesecretary Lars Vilks and talked about Ladonia. The National band Neurobash was also interviewed and played live in the studio. The  interviews, the performance and the whole show can be seen in full at the Local TV’s Web-TV. The Ladonia interview is in the second half of the program.

The National band of Ladonia, performed their latest single and also a new song from the forthcoming NeuroArt-project. The musical is telling the story about what happened around the Lars Vilks-drawing of “the Roundabout-dog”. The drawing has been called “the Mohammed-dog” in media and rendered Lars Vilks, amongst others, a death-threat from the notorious terror-group Al Qaida. But the main reason for the participation in the show was the virtual state and micro nation of Ladonia.

President Axwik was wearing his new t-shirt from the Ministry of Art & Jump with the text: “Freedom-of-speech Fundamentalist” (in Swedish = Yttrandefrihets-fundamentalist). The t-shirt is on sale through the Ministry of Art & Jump with the text either in English or in Swedish.

President Axwik was asked to answer questions about what a President actually does, and President Axwik was also asked to show the “presidential wave” which he uses in different contexts, like official waving-ceremonies.

Ladonian money and the Ladonian flag was also displayed, explained and discussed in the interview before the Ladonian historic overview was cut short.

Coup d’état in Ladonia

fredag, december 28th, 2007

In the beginning of December the Minister felt forced and compelled to carry out a Coup d’état in Ladonia, his home country by choice, after lengthy arguing and bickering in the ruling Cabinet. Two weeks ago, the following memo was sent to the Cabinet:

“As of today I have taken over the Presidency in Ladonia and have carried out a non-violent coup and taken the power from the former President. This I have done to stop him from continue the humourless mocking and insulting of the noble Cabinet of Ladonia and thereby mocking and insulting Ladonia and it’s remonistic Queen, our beloved Queen Yvonne, our heart-blood and our moral lead star, our rightful mother of the land, our only true love.

I have hereby possessed the title President, until Ladonia can carry out democratic elections to reintroduce a worthy leader of our country. I am also appointing Kicki Hankell, our former President, as my Vice President. Other than that I will change nothing in the administration, but I hope that several ministers that has resigned lately now will return to their posts on part of the new order.

My chosen word will be “For Ladonia”. I hope and trust that I have the understanding of the Cabinet when I see myself forced to these powerful actions.

Viva Ladonia, Viva the Queen Yvonne I

Fredrik Axwik
President of Ladonia”

HopArt as inspiration

tisdag, oktober 2nd, 2007

After the North-American HopArt tour, when the Minister was jumping in the water as a protest, and at the same time performing the Ladonia National Anthem - this video came afloat.

Was it inspired by the HopArt-jumps? Probably so.

How would they otherwise come up with such an idea…?

A very interesting, and rather new, way of communicating in the early internet-era… What it is about? I’m sure you’ll figure it out. This is certainly the best video the Ministry have seen in a very long time (excluding of course material from the Ministry Network).

Snille spekulerar i Mohammed-saken

fredag, september 21st, 2007

Mohammed-drawings no crime

fredag, september 21st, 2007

The Swedish Office of the Chancellor of Justice (est. by King Charles XII in 1713) which the State´s representative in trials and other legal disputes. The Chancellor of Justice has said that the “Mohammed-drawings” by the swedish artist Lars Vilks can not be considered to be any crime.

“It’s no persecution aginst any ethnic group.” After several reports from muslim organisations there has been an investigation. But the Chancellor of Justice says that it’s not even close. “If such drawings or anything like that should be banned, a new legislation about blasphemi and other religious violations would have to be introduced in Sweden.”
