BOTTLE MAIL (Message in the bottle) IV

söndag, maj 24th, 2009

The project Bottle Mail is nearing it’s end. Since January this year we’ve had four (4) confirmed landings and one fatal accident (January 29). The bottles that now has confirmed landings are at S:t Helena, Greenland - Daneborg, Victoria on Vancouver Island (Canada). The bottle in Victoria ended up in the Inner Harbor of Victoria. The last confirmed landing so far is at Midway Island (which means we only have 1 bottle left afloat).

We are looking for bottles everywhere as this little illustration shows:

DOGS in Stockholm

fredag, november 21st, 2008

Tomorrow it’s premier performance for the musical DOGS, finally, after censoring and defections. It’s all about a little round-about dog… The round-about dog became globally famous last year when artist Lars Vilks received a death-threat for drawing a round-about dog with a turban on it’s head and naming it “The Prophet M as a round-about dog”. Not many people knows this perhaps, but in fact there’s a saying that “The dog is mans best friend”.

It seems Al Qaida didn’t know this. I wonder if they know what a round-about dog is, or even a round-about. So while driving to Eslöv (where the above mentioned drawing was censored in Nov 07) this video was shot. In fact, if you listen carefully you can hear the dog sniffing for his round-about…

The musical are being set up in Stockholm tomorrow (November 22) in cooperation with the Ex-Muslims and the Humanists. The musical consist mostly of video and tells/ recreates the story about the round-about dog and the happenings around it’s creation and the following débâcle.

Videos från Humanist College ackrediteringen

onsdag, november 19th, 2008

Two videos from the Saturday ceremony (November 15), for technical reasons in two parts. (All speach in Swedish only) .

torsdag, november 6th, 2008

A long long time ago, in a galaxy not far from you…

…at the opening night at the Eslöv Biennale 2007 the makeshift Eslöv Complaints Choir (mECC) was formed. The improvised Complaints Choir did it’s first (and most likely it’s last) performance. The singers for the choir was volunteering and/or picked out at random from the visitors at the Biennale at the opening night.

A text (in Swedish) was presented to the singers. The text was written by the Ministry of Art. The singers had no chance for test singing, rehearsal or reading of the text ahead of singing. It was totally a fly-by-faith operation. A few of the participating artists also took part in the complains choir. Some of them are seen to the far right in the video. The Complaints Choir was a project very suitable for the Ministry of Art & Jump which also is involved in protests in the HopArt project.

By a fluke of luck the video of the choir was dug up and rescued out of the extensive archive material at the Ministry of Art & Jump. We had given up all hopes, we really thought the video was lost and considered it missing in action, presumed dead But here it is! Short, simple and shooting from the hip. (Take it away…)

HopArt flashback

fredag, oktober 24th, 2008

A little flashback from the 2007 HopArt Tour. The season of 2008 has been hopeless (so far - and we might as well face it, the season is over). The 21:st protest jump of the lifelong HopArt Tour was in Småland. The man who is an anthem did it again.

Minister on YouTube

måndag, oktober 20th, 2008

The new video-section here at the Newsblog has grown a bit lately - as some might have noticed already. And since the video documentation project started a little “website” has been building up (by default) at YouTube. The new address is easy enough, and there is also a new link to this site in the right margine. The new address is www.youtube.com/MinisterofArt and has right this minute collected about 10 videos for your viewing pleasure.

CUBE - Concerto for Craftsmen

söndag, oktober 19th, 2008

A 10 minute flashback on video of a musical drama from back when (2003) - a piece in which Maestro Axwik enters the scene and performs a sound-art performance with the subtitle “for Club, Axe and Chainsaw”. A tribute to the craftsmen around us that builds our world every day and day by day. After a short bow, the viewers are thrown right into the action where the CUBE is more than half done by the craftsmen on stage.

The concerto had it’s premier performance in Gothenburg, March 2003 on the annual Festival at the Academy of Music and Drama, Gothenburg University. The two assistants are Mikael Varela and Sebastian Paananen. The excellent Tony Blomdahl was mixing and editing all sounds in real time. The concerto was approximately 45 minutes long in the original performance, and ends with a fuel injected crescendo after the loitering passages. If someone fell asleep during the concerto they sure woke up in the end… Lean back and enjoy the ride!

The video is an edited short version of just under 10 minutes (due to the fact that YouTube don’t like longer videos, and the viewer might fall to sleep during the longer installments. Axwik - The Minister of Art & Jump - are otherwise known for his short performances (HopArt) - CUBE was going in the totally opposite direction… Afterwards the sound-art performance was compared with “Fluxus” (a honestly highly flattering judgment and opinion).

A night at the Boardwalk

fredag, oktober 17th, 2008

You have got a few looks of the Boardwalk in daylight before here and here. Here’s finally the look and feel of the nocturnal cultural event when it first was opened for the public. The premier night was filled with people, and in the video you can experience the dark September evening with the whole Project Boardwalk in effect, with performers in robes and beach gears. The video needs to be seen in a dark room, in that case you might catch a glimpse of sun worshippers and visitors passing by in the dark of the night. Go on, take a walk through the night.

Boardwalk Video II

onsdag, oktober 15th, 2008

Yet another video from Project Beachlife that now is up on YouTube. A slightly different version and with a special soundtrack. Enjoy the now missing Boardwalk of Eslöv by The Sea. Fortunately it’s documented and can be viewed when ever you want. Videofootage courtesy of Ministry of Art & Jump Archive.
