Walk with Larry

When biking into the village today I came across a wanderer. I found a back-pack outside the local foodstore and while wondering who’s that was a man pops out with some food in his hands. We started talking and as it happens this guy, Larry, is out for a walk-about. He’s walking from Amsterdam to Stockholm (!) to nudge our Hippocampus, the memory part of the brain, about the starvation that’s going on in big parts of the world. Larry told me that 24.000 children starve to death. Every day… One every 3 seconds… And he told me this without preaching, banging the gavel or hitting me over the head with a money-box. Larry simple walks, and talks. In fact he recommend to take a walk-about on your vacation and go talk to people. You can visit Larry’s website here, to find out what it’s all about. A hell of a guy and a hell of a persistence! Go Larry go! And if you see him around you might wanna help him out.икониПравославни икони

Lost and found!

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

For over a year, a vital document at the Ministry has been missing, presumed lost. But today it was found by chance! It is the list over the protests collected in Uppsala at the jump in Fyrisån. The list from Uppsala contains some very interesting attitudes, very specific protests, both from a local and global point of view.

THE UPPSALA PROTESTS

The long uphill stretch to the Castle in Uppsala
Expensive parkings
No parkings for people living in the city
People who doesn’t like Art
The new motorway (E4) is too close
Bad language handling
The bad summer weather
That the socialdemocratic politicians say they won’t build a new skate-rink
Bad environmental judgement (for ex. flying to vacation)
People who walk slowly in narrow passages
Topless (Roof-less) Bus-stops
Kids that are in the way in shops
Population
Royal Weddings
The aversion against Public Art
Reduction of SU for students
Cold toes
Parents deaths
Cold rain
Fizzy water
Trash in the river
Shaved armpits

Dang!

A most unfortunate accident involving the Ministry’s hardware department has rendered the moblog un-updateable at the moment… Hopefully this will be fixed in a not too distant future… But don’t hold your breath.

Giving advice…

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

“I should stop giving advice; people never take it. One of the things I’ve learned is that humans hardly ever learn from experience of others. Most that learn anything, and it’s not often it seems, learn on their own, the hard way.”
