Minister of Art & Jump visits Kelowna

Fredrik Axwik, the Minister of Art and Jump, and acting Cultural Attaché and Special Envoy of Ladonia will perform HopArt after a presentation at the Alternator Gallery for Contemporary Art on Thursday, June 28 at 7 p.m. Axwik, a contemporary of Sweden and Scandinavia, will speak about his performance work and involvement with the Internet-based virtual state of Ladonia, prior to jumping into the lake. This jump is a demonstration, which according to Axwik “is performed as a protest against the order of things. As Minister, I have a very extensive list of protests and anyone that would like to add to the list can do so before the jump. I will then take these problems on my shoulders and jump into the water, which is a direct way of solving problems.”

The event will take place at the Alternator Gallery for Contemporary Art, an artist-run centre located in the Rotary Centre for the Arts at 421 Cawston Ave. in Kelowna, BC. Admission is by donation.
