Documentation flashback

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

A little flashback to the beginning of the year of 2010. For three months the fifth part of the art research project ARCHIVE was running at the Eslöv Town Museum. The whole project is a research into the unknown parts of the little towns unknown history, as well as the artists… ARCHIVE has the subtitle “Eslöv By The Sea” and the fifth part concentrated on Philosophy & Religion and was named “Spinoza Never Made It To Eslöv”.

Pickled Green Tomatoes

Monday, November 29th, 2010

(Translated from Swedish – Swe below)

4 kg Green tomatoes
6-8 small Onions
24 cl (or 16 tablespoons) Vinegar
1 liter water
1 1/2 Kg Sugar
2 tablespoons Yellow mustard seeds
4-5 pieces of whole cinnamon

Start with boiling the tomatoes in salted water for about 1 hour. Let them simmer, they need to get softened up. During this time you take the opportunity to heat up the water (1 liter) and simmer the sugar in it  to a nice and simmery sugar marinade/liquor. When it’s cooled down a bit and the tomatoes are turning soft you add the vinegar. (Put a lid on it or it will just vaporize).

Put the tomatoes, onions (sliced or cut up) and the spices (mustard seeds and cinnamon) in empty (clean) jars and pour the sugar mariande over it till last. Voila!

Now put it in your pantry and leave it there for at least 2-3 weeks before sampling the goodies.

More documentation

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

During the ongoing documentation work at the Ministry, another informative link was found at a (regional) Newspaper (Helsingborgs Dagblad). It’s one of the biggest and more important Newspaper of north-west region of southern Sweden (Skåne). This is a collection of different articles that this particular paper has published so far of the Minister and his work. Read alla about it here.

And for some reason they have misspelled the Ministers name in one article

This week at the Ministry

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

After an early departure and a late return the Minister treads Swedish soil again. Still the Minister is scrubbing black volcanic sand off his feet and remembers all too well that it was only Sunday morning he sat in the morning sun and ate breakfast outdoors dressed in a shirt. Today (and yesterday) it’s a blizzard on/at the Ministry! Ah, what fond memories of a distant sun baked beach of a semi-tropical island in the Atlantic 100 kilometers off the coast of Africa. A week of summer was not bad at all. Now it’s back to day job and meetings. Planning and plotting for the ministry of the Art… Nose to the grindstone… Stay tuned.

Documentation of a Model

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

The documentation work has been somewhat neglected lately… But here is a little glimpse from the building of a model of an upcoming Equestrian statue. The Model was built in Helsingborg, late one afternoon in October.

For an attempt…

“For an attempt that is actually an attempt, wouldn’t success have to come as a surprise? If not — might one have not set the stakes of the gamble too low?”
